Jeff Long - Headquarters Staff Officer

Jeffrey Long is a 32 year veteran of the New Jersey State Police. He is a 1979 graduate of Queen of Peace HS in North Arlington NJ, and he is a 1983 graduate of William Paterson University in Wayne NJ where he received a BS in Criminal Justice. He also played 4 years on the William Paterson University football team. August 1983, he was hired by the County of Bergen as a Juvenile Detention Officer at the Paramus facility. In January of 1984, he entered the NJ State Police academy and graduated in June of 1984. He served as a general road duty trooper at several stations including Netcong, Newton, Totowa, Bloomfield and Somerville Stations. Additionally, he served on the Troop "B" tactical patrol unit for several years when he lead Troop 'B' in DWI arrests and received several Mothers Against Drunk Driving awards from the Passaic and Morris County chapters. He also received several letters of Commendation from the Superintendent of the New Jersey State Police for DWI enforcement. He is currently assigned to the Emergency Management Section, Operational Dispatch Unit. He is married and has two daughters. He likes spending time in the summer at the Jersey shore.
